Make your vote count

May 10 at exactly 6:45am, I was already lined up to vote. people are starting come and fill the voting precint.7:00am the voting started, and I was the fourth to place my ballot to the PCOS machine. Voting was fast and easy this time I think all in all It took me 5 minutes to cast my vote. It was such a relief to read message from the machine saying "Congratulations your vote has been counted". It was also nice to hear "congratulations" from the BEIs and the poll watchers. It made me really happy to have made my voice heard.

Here's what I did.

1. I checked my name on the list of precint at the polling center.
2. Signed on my name the list before voting.
3. I was given the balot, the folder and the marker.
4. It took me 5 mins to mark my candidates.
5. After that I inserted the ballot to the machine. It took a few seconds for the machine to read and verify the vote. once it's done, I received a confirmation that the vote was successful. Im very pleased on how fast it is.

It's sad that this is not the same in other place. The were reports of defective machines in other place, verified videos of vote buying where one candidate gave sample ballots with Php 200 pesos (about $4) attached to it. There were private armies threatening people not to go out and vote. I am still hopeful that the overall elections will be ok, we'll see. I can't wait to know the results and know if my candidates make it.

I encourage everyone to pray for a peacful and credible elections. Let's also be vigilant to so that our votes will not be wasted.

• BE EARLY - or try to come to your voting precint asap.
• Make a guide - listing your candidates espcially in the senatorial slots because the list is long and it are written closely together and can be confusing.
